Button Blanket1764/1

Button blanket made of dark blue wool with a red felt border. A red frog image is appliqued in the centre of the blanket with eyes made from discs of abalone shell and a mouth outlined in white glass beads. The four corners have designs representing coppers in red applique. The images and inside of the border are outlined with buttons, the border in two alternating sizes.

Black cotton pants with pleated waist and ankles. The pants widen at the hips then taper in at the bottom. There is a buttoned pocket at the back; metal straps on the sides; rows of white decorative buttons along the sides of the legs. Under Skirt1635/2

A stiff tubular hemmed under skirt of netting. Shaped at the waist by darts with the sections joined by off-white silk(?) ribbon, which secures as a waist band that has a circular shiny cream-coloured button with seven pairs of metal hooks with eyes partway down along one side. Off white silk(?) ribbon also secures the hem.
