Sculptural installation in the form of two very large lahal sticks. Each is installed vertically, and rotates on a central axis. The 'male' stick (part a) has a wide copper band around its centre, with the Royal Proclamation of 1763 acid-etched into it. The 'female' stick (part b) has 5 copper inlay hands, each with a year acid-etched into it. Both have carved hands protruding from the main post - one pair of hands extend palm-up in the lower area; 8 fisted hands extend out, around the post, above the central area; one hand points downward from the upper area. Both sticks also have two colour-stained, wood veneer bands at each end, with inlaid abalone figures between them. The 'male' stick has 2 crown and 2 jester hat shapes between the top bands, and 2 trees and fish between the bottom bands. The 'female' stick has 2 trees and fish between its top bands, and 3 pairs of sticks between the bottom bands.
Wooden picture frame with photograph of a ship glued onto the centre. Frame is incised and paintedred and green with Northwest Coast images. Inscription on reverse.
Hardwood palm-handled fish-tail chisel. Wooden handle is coated with a reddish-brown lacquer and has a brass fitting. One side of the palm handle is flat. Blade is a fishtail gouge and skewed.
Palm-handled awl. Circular wooden handle has flattened end and tapers to a metal neck-ring. Spherical metal blade projects from within metal neck-ring, which has an indentation on either side. The short metal blade tapers to a point and appears to have been worked or filed to achieve that point.
Miniature totem pole on square base. Front of base has a painting of a small killer whale. Pole has two figures: bottom figure is a bear ? in a seated position, top figure is a thunderbird with outstretched wings. Colours include brown, black, light green, red, dark and light yellow-brown, and yellow-white.
Gold lacquered hexagonal-shaped box with lid, and with tray that fits inside. Top of lid has gold design of river, maple tree and bridge, sides have maple leaves and water design, and tray has landscape with cliff and blue waterfall.
Small model pole. Front of base has a painting of a small whale. Bottom figure is a seated bear with knees tucked in and arms wrapped around legs. Next figure is a horizontal whale, with its tail flukes carved as the heads of two birds. Perched on top of the whale is a thunderbird with wings outstretched but angled downward and with two projections on top of its head. On back of pole, indentations and pencil mark are present in the drawing of a whale.
Napkin ring carved from one piece of wood with a centre band of curved bulge and a lip at each rim. "Jerusalem" is printed on the centre band.
Wooden box with a hinged lid that has a small hook fastener at the front. The outer pieces of wood that form the box are interlocking. The centre of the box contains a glass cylinder shaped ink well with a sprung leather(?) circular stopper on the inside of the lid. "Jerusalem" is written in black ink on the top of the lid.
Spoon with scoop in same plane as long handle. End of handle is in the shape of a bird with carved decorations in relief on wings.
