Carved container of wood with a hinged lid. The bottom section is in the shape of a canoe and rests on a base of two horizontal wooden bars; interior is hollowed out. Lid is carved in the form of a grouse; on one wing is a hinge that attaches the lid to the base and on the other is a hook clasp to hold the container shut. A small metal handle is attached to the middle of the bird's back. Lettering on the clasp side reads "Indian Dance Rattle" in black ink.

A black brimless hat, light brown on the inside, with an oval opening for the head. Made of fabric pasted over heavy paper, lacquered black which has then been cut and folded to form the hat which is held together by lacing with a heavy twisted cord at the back. The two cuts form diagonal lines at each side, ending in two points at the upper front. There is a fold parallel to the wearer’s shoulders across the top of the hat, from which a straight-sided flap forms the outside of the back. This is attached to the ends of the wrapped front panel at the centre back with lacing. A narrow edging of paper is pasted along the lower edge of the hat. Small tassels of twisted yellow silk cord at the back. There is lacing of grey-white paper cord.

Purple whistling mask with green frog protruding from chin. Hair and brow are black; wrinkles on forehead are painted one each red and blue; eyes are white with green irises and black pupils and are lined with red. Eye holes are between eyes and brow; two small holes at each side and one at top.
Male white face with protruding eyebrows and nose. Brows, curling mustache, and beard are in black; end of nose, cheeks, and lips are in red. Holes carved out at eyes and small holes at top and sides.
Pink face with large nose and upward curving mustache. Hair, eyebrows, mustache, and pupils are in black; eyes are in white; holes at nostrils and between eyes and eyebrows. Mouth is closed and bottom lip protrudes further than upper; chin is pointed.
Textile on the loom is woven in a chevron and flower design in red, blue, green, yellow, orange, black, white and purple on a burgundy background. Rope is burgundy, green, purple and white. Loom and pick are carved and sanded. Pick is also painted. Many wooden pieces are attached in the weave.
