Headdress OrnamentEdz1847 a-b

Set of two headdress ornaments, each made of black lacquer with areas of mesh painted gold and tapering towards the base, which is composed of wire wrapped in paper. The ornaments are each decorated with an oval-shaped chinese character in mottled green and off-white and a bat figure at the rounded top depicted with raised lines.

Loom (part a-e) with an unfinished textile consisting of a zigzag and lozenge pattern in red, orange, purple, blue, green, pink and white with yellow borders on a red ground. The textile is attached to two large, cylindrical shaped wooden sticks; one at each end. Intertwine in the burgundy warp of the textile are seven wooden tools: two heddle rods; one bamboo stick; one flat, rectangular wood piece with triangular, pointed ends (part d) and three long cylindrical sticks of varying size (parts b, c, e).

Loom with an unfinished textile consisting of a floral design of two large pink, red and orange flowers with blue and green leaves on a burgundy ground. The textile is attached to three large, cylindrical shaped wooden sticks; two at the bottom. Intertwine in the cream warp of the textile are seven wooden tools: two are flat and rectangular with triangular, pointed ends; one is cylindrical with notched ends while the remaining four are simply cylindrical.

Backstrap LoomE368 a-f

Loom (part a-f) consisting of a partly woven textile (part a) with unwoven warps, attached shedding devices and accompanying wooden tools. The weaving consists of a large x-shape filled with a lozenge pattern surrounded by stripes all on a burgundy ground. Both ends have large woven sections with an unwoven, cream coloured centre. There are cylindrical loom bars attached to the textile at each end. In the middle are three sticks with string heddles and a shed roll (part c). In addition, there is large stick with tapered, pointed ends (part b) along with three long, cylindrical shaped sticks (parts d, e, f).

Armour1132/1

Black torso armour. The armour consists of two main pieces that wrap around the chest, hinged on the left and tied on the right. On the upper back are two padded prongs that rest beside the neck and on the shoulders. On the upper front is a two-tiered neck guard strung with green cord. On the lower front right is a green fabric pocket tacked onto the amour.

Armour1132/3

Lower face armour. The black metal armour covers the cheeks and chin, with an opening for the nose and mouth, in a solid piece. There is a green cord tie attached to the upper edges. Beneath the facial armour is a black neck protector made of three curved pieces of metal, joined by green cord. The back of the facial armour is red; the back of the neck protector is black.

Pair of black armour (part a-b). The armour is rectangular in shape with a hook on the top edge and rounded lower corners. The front is painted with a black lacquer. There are four round rivets and a wave-like ridge across the centre. The back is covered by a black fabric with gold symbols.
