Devil Mask3289/10 a-i

Luzbel devil costume mask (part a) with large removable cow horns (parts b-c), two removable small painted horns (parts d-e) and four removable teeth (parts f-i). The primary face is black with orange, red and blue-grey markings outlined in small dots. On each side of the head are pointed ears, situated below holes for the horns. The mouth is open, exposing sharp teeth and large canines. The large blue eyes are bulging out, outlined in red, and have red veins throughout. A small winged creature with large fangs is where the forehead and nose should be. The creature's talons extend down over the nose. The back is plain.

Devil Costume Mask3289/77

Devil costume mask. The mask's face is painted blue with red outlining the eyes, mouth and cheeks. Set between the white angled eyeholes, where the nose would be, a sculpted boar with marbles for eyes protrudes. On each side of the mask, a green sculpted serpent and a black sculpted boar figure stick out. A red serpent is carved out where the chin would be. The mouth contains articulated teeth, some of which are missing. Fake black fur outlines the face. Four sets of painted horns are mounted to the mask - orange, black, and yellow with green from the head, and smaller gold horns on either side of the mouth. A piece of cow hide is nailed to the upper back of the mask, to hang down the back of the wearer's head. The interior is lined with a t-shirt.

Devil Costume Mask3289/81

Devil costume mask. Attached to the mask are three sets of natural (unpainted) horns. Fake brown fur is affixed to the face. The devil has large slanted eyes. A wild animal, possibly a coyote, protrudes from the chin. A jaguar and black panther come out of each side of the mask. A large boar head with bloodshot eyes sticks out of the front, in place of a nose. Interior lined with bright orange fabric.

Devil Costume Mask3289/78 a-b

Devil costume mask. The mask (part a) is decorated with four sets of horns: one painted green, another is natural horn, another is painted red with a white tip, and another is white. The carved tongue hangs out. The eyes have slanted holes cutout so the wearer can see. The outer eye is painted with white dots. The teeth have blackened edges. A large jaguar with bloodshot eyes sticks out where the nose of the face would be. Two smaller jaguars stick out from the sides of the mask. An animal pelt (part b) (possibly deer skin) is attached to the back of the mask as a cape. The face is outlined with fake black fur. The interior is lined with padding and fabric, and a long orange cord is attached to eye hooks.

There is a single small hole on either side of the mouth and behind each ear, through which string is tied. The back is unpainted, and has artist's name written in black felt.

Devil Mask3289/1

Carved wooden mask painted bright blue and blue-green with red and dark blue markings. Curled gold sheep(?) horns are attached to the top by nails. Mouth is open wide with long pointed teeth and an orange rolled leather tongue. The large slanted yellow with red eyes have circular holes cut through. The brow ridge is painted dark blue and red. Large pointed ears are on either side of the head, with a single hole through each ear and one more hole through the centre of the forehead. 'La Pirana' is written in black felt on the back.

Devil Mask3289/67

Large devil-dragon mask. Carved wooden mask painted orange-yellow and green, with horsehair attached to the chin. Large mouth with sharp teeth. The face is painted with scales. A gold with black tip pointed ridge extends down the centre of the face to the large flared green nose. Two large curled green horns extend out to the side, and a single gold horn extends straight up from the top of the ridge. The dragon has large pointed ears.

Jatayu character wayang kulit (shadow puppet) from Ramayana series. Flat shadow puppet cut from hide. Large bird with wings spread. His feathers are various shades of reds, blues, oranges with white highlights. His red chest feathers are in a diamond-like pattern, and yellow flame-like feathers extend down from his red head. Operated by one central horn rod.

Shadow Puppet3340/3

Prince Lesmana or Laksmana (Rama's brother) wayang kulit (shadow puppet) from Ramayana series. Flat shadow puppet cut from hide, with long arms jointed with pins at the shoulders and elbows. He has long black hair, which curls up to a point above his head. The tips of the thumb and index are held together, while keeping the other fingers straight (Mudrā). Operated by three horn rods.
