He wears a blue scarf(?) on his head with the yin yang symbol. Dressed in olive green full-length robes with wide sleeves and decorated with the yin yang symbol. He is depicted with a sword on his back, black with a green hilt and red handle, and two red tassels hanging down. He wears black shoes, with green decorations on the toes and heels, and red edging. Limbs jointed with fibre at the shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Operated by three rods. The fly-whisk has a thin blue shaft, and then tied to the end is a length of hair(?) or feather(?). There is a small loop for the puppet's fingers.

Han Zhongli shadow puppet with separate head (part b) and magic fan (part c). He has long black hair, with two buns tied with red ribbon on his head. His face is heavily lined in red, and he has a long black beard and moustache. He wears a long purple-pink robe with circular green vine and flower designs, bordered by red. On his feet, he wears black shoes with green details on the toes and heels, and red edging. Limbs jointed with fibre at the shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Operated by three rods. The fan is orange-yellow with diagonal alternating bands of red and green on the blade, and a red fire-like detail on top. There is a small loop at the end of the shaft for the puppet's fingers.

Zhang Guolao shadow puppet with separate head (part b) and membranophone fish drum (part c). He has a cutout face, which is heavily lined. He has a long white beard, and wears a scarf(?) on his head. His robe is a deep blue-green, with circular motifs in black, and outlined in red. He wears black shoes with three red decorations down the side, and a red pompom at the toe. Limbs jointed with fibre at the shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Operated by three rods. The membranophone is a long piece of orange-yellow bamboo with dried fish skin stretched over one end. Two smaller rods with green cloud-like feet extend from the base of the bamboo. There is a small loop for the puppet's fingers.

Han Xiangzi shadow puppet with separate head (part b) and dizi (flute) (part c). Limbs jointed with fibre at the shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Operated by three rods. Flute has ten notches and 9 holes, and is tied at one end with a green ribbon. There is a small loop for the puppet's fingers.

Cao Guojiu shadow puppet with separate head (part b) and jade tablet (part c). His face is cutout and lined in black, with very delicate features, and a long pointed beard. He wears a rectangular black cap decorated with small red and green pompoms, red edging and green-blue clouds. His brown robe is decorated with clouds of red, blue, green, yellow or black. His pants are striped red and green. Limbs jointed with fibre at the shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Operated by three rods. The jade tablet is depicted as a light green-blue, and is club-shaped. There is a small loop for the puppet's fingers.

Shadow puppet of an old woman. Made of paper which has been cut and painted to depict the old woman. Figure dressed in an olive green robe with purple patches and sash, tied at the waist in red. Figure holds a basket in her right hand, and a cane in her left hand. Her hair is white and tied back with a red tie. Her face is heavily lined. Operated by three rods. Joints at the shoulders, elbows, hands, waist, and knees. '1' is painted on the collar.

Shadow puppet of the district magistrate (part a) with detached head (part b). Made of paper which has been cut and painted to depict the magistrate in a purple outfit with an ornate red, white, olive green and black chiseled or punched out section on the front of his shirt, as well as the shirttail and down one pant leg. The face is mainly an outline with a long black beard extending down, and his black hair tied back in a headdress(?). Operated by three rods. Joints at the shoulders, elbows, hands, waist, and knees. Shadow puppet of a neighbour with child on her back. Made of paper which has been cut and painted to depict the woman in a purple outfit with black bands at cuffs, wearing a small child on her back in a blue-grey fabric wrap. The woman has black hair, tied back with beige cloth decorated with red flowers. She has thin purple shoes on her feet. Operated by three rods. Made of paper which has been cut and painted to depict the older man with a heavily lined face, and white beard, moustache, eyebrows and hair. He wears beige clothes with a large orange flower pattern, and a blue tie at waist as well as a large hat with a fringe along the top. Operated by three rods. Shadow puppet of the old woman's son. Made of paper which has been cut and painted to depict the son in a purple shirt with white collar, white with red bottoms, and a black tie at the waist. He holds a black axe in his left hand. He has a heavily furrowed brow. His head is shaved, with exception to a short black ponytail at the crown of his head (queue hairstyle); however, the figure's hair has detached. His eyebrows are black, and he has red lips.
