Basket3635/8

Small ovular basket with imbricated designs across exterior, single-row foot, and cross-hatched rim. Walls of basket flare slightly outward from base, making opening larger than foot. Designs consist of inverted, concentric triangles, that extend from opening towards middle of basket. Done in black, red-brown, and light yellow-white; centres of triangles are light yellow-white. Two crosses extend from tips of each triangle; done in black with light yellow-white centres. Identical cross patterns in between triangles; done in red-brown with light yellow-white centres. Rim of opening, along exterior walls, decorated with naturally coloured cherry bark. Base and interior are undecorated.

Belt3635/4

Beaded rectangular belt with two hook and eye clasps; done in blue with a light purple border. Beaded panel consists of central design with mirrored patterns on either side. Central design consists of two abstract, maroon floral motifs connected with a row of circles. Plants are done in maroon with green and red trim. Circles are green with yellow outlines; central yellow circle outlined in green and red. Second design consists of two arrowhead-shapes pointing towards one another with circles on either side; done in orange, red, yellow, green, black, maroon, and silver. Designs on outer edges consist of central four-petaled flowers framed with more flowers with leaves; done in dark blue, yellow, red, white, maroon, and black. Back of belt lined with floral patterned fabric.

Baby Carrier3635/2

Baby carrier, or cradle board, with beaded top and cover. Back piece is made of flat wood board, with a rounded top that narrows towards base; board covered in hide. Design on beaded top consists of a grouping of five flowers with stems and leaves; done in red, dark purple, dark blue, and green, with yellow and red highlights throughout. Motif done on a white background; area outlined with maroon triangles, trimmed in dark blue. Bottom half of the board has a hide pouch with laces and cotton-lined collar, into which a baby can be placed. Black cloth cover overtop pouch has a large beaded flower with leaves and stems; two smaller flowers extend from petals of central motif. Designs are done in white, dark blue, red, light blue, and green. Cloth cover outlined with white triangles. Back of board decorated with long pieces of fringe, towards top; hide strap, lined with mint green cloth, attached to back, towards centre of board.

Skirt3627/3 b

Tightly gathered back skirt; small, plain triangular panels on either side of central gathered section. Waistband above gathered portion has dark blue embroidered border with designs done in yellow. Motifs consist of hourglass-like shapes, hexagons, and diamonds with slanted triangles underneath; plain line above band and zigzag underneath. Rest of skirt is undecorated; short ties on either side of waistband for securing.

Black apron, or back skirt ribbon, consisting of two rectangular panels stitched together in the top inner corners; long dark blue ties on either side. Panels are decorated with different types of embroidered flowers with stems and leaves; done in pink, yellow, red, white, purple, blue, green, and beige. Panels are trimmed with metal discs with glass buttons at their centres; white ribbon looped around sides of discs.

Gathered back skirt with plain panels on either side of gathered section. Skirt is black and only top edge of gathered section has decoration; orange border along waistband with zigzags underneath. Points of bottom zigzag are tipped with dots, triangles fill negative space between orange line and top zigzag; done in red, white, green, and yellow. Long dark brown ties threaded through top corners of gathered section. Plain panels on either side have angled bottom edges.

Blue vest with front opening; secured with six metal buttons towards the bottom edge. Entire vest is decorated white embroidered flowers, leaves, and vines. Collar and front opening are trimmed with a white band; embroidered pink, dark blue, and purple flowers with green leaves and yellow highlights throughout. White band is bordered with metallic thread stitched into a scallop design; metal rings underneath open weave. Buttons are metal with raised floral designs; painted pink, yellow, blue, silver, and gold. Three gatherings of fabric along bottom edge on centre back of vest. Interior is lined with plain cotton.

Gathered front skirt with painted floral patterns across surface; ribbon ties at back, along waistband. Skirt has a white background with columns of large red flowers, surrounded by green leaves and smaller blue flowers, across surface; red berry vines connect each flower in the column. Waistband and bottom edge are bordered with blue bands; hem decorated with lace trim. Ribbon ties have a white background with floral and geometric patterns embroidered in light purple along length. Opening at back of skirt also trimmed with lace.
