Each compartment is leaf-shaped and has a peacock resting on the centre top. The box has six arched legs with leaf-shaped feet, each held on by a nail.

Flower projections from each shoulder. Pendant leg resting on flower pad projecting from from unsealed base. Beneath right leg on base is a small bronze patch.
