Herring HookA8185

A bundle of lines of twined horsehair or gut. To end of each line is fastened a thin brass rod with a very sharp point, bound with thread on to its line at an opposed angle, thus acting as a hook.

Colours: pale-grey background; design in dark blue, medium blue, dark red, orange, turquoise, green. Back of belt is covered in printed cotton; colours: pale turquoise background, dark turquoise, orange and white floral pattern. "Paris 30" printed on reverse side. There are three holes around which the cotton backing is hand-stitched. Colour: grey.
