An irregular fragment in two pieces that combines brown plain weave cotton with predominantly yellow camelid (alpaca?) weft-faced weaves. The largest piece (part a) has a yellow diamond-shaped, double headed serpent design in supplementary weft weaving, with accents in red and dark yellow. There is a narrow band of birds in a 5 colour complementary warp weave; red, black, white and two yellows. Weft-faced stripes of red and yellows flank the bird band. One warp, one weft selvedge present and two cut edges. The smaller piece (part b) is part of the narrow bird band, flanked by stripes of red and yellows.
A fragmentary slit tapestry yoke in 3 shades of yellow, red and accents of white and black. Existing fragment is roughly the shape of a stepped triangle. 5 red and yellow bands outline the stepped hypotenuse and the interior is filled with 18 crested birds, arranged in rows. Colours of birds (predominantly red and yellow) alternate along rows. The bird crest is almost as elaborate as the body but it lacks feet. White tassel with purple wrapping is sewn to tapestry and a loose orange feather adheres to the surface. Heading cord in place along short side. Cut warps extend from stepped tapestry edge. Z-spun singles for weft yarn, z-spun, 2 plied s for warp yarns.
A cotton, gauze-weave head cloth in blue, green, orange and shades of yellow. Colour alternation is semi-regular in both warp and weft directions. Composed of two loom widths, each with narrow, yellow camelid borders along the warp selvedges. Sewn together along a weft selvedge. S-twist cotton yarns, z-spun, 2 plied s camelid (alpaca ?) and cotton yarns.
The band is thick, long and narrow with patterns of red, yellow, brown, white and green. The pattern shows the profile of an animalistic figure with a gaping mouth, repeated 49 times in varying colour combinations. The background colour changes between red and yellow after every four figures. One end has unraveled threads, the other end has the original warp loops. Z spun, 2 plied s yarns.
The white textile is long, narrow and unfinished with flaring ends. The two ends are dissimilar in colour and pattern. One end has four woven bands of triangles and diamonds in red, yellow and black. The other end has seven narrow bands of yellow, green and red interspaced with seven dark red bands. The bands show zoomorphic designs in black. The ends are woven in combination weft faced plain weave, complementary and supplementary weft weaves using camelid. Except for the ends and the unwoven section, the cotton warps are plain woven with cotton wefts. Z-spun, 2 ply s yarn.
A rectangular grey fragment of plain weave cotton with a row of three crested birds which are brocaded in red and four shades of yellow camelid yarn. Weft faced stripes in two shades of yellow border the row of birds. A separately woven tape with fringe alternates stripes of dark yellow with red and light yellow and is sewn to the warp selvedge of the fragment. Two cut edges and two selvedges are present. The plain weave ground cloth is unevenly battened just above the design area. Z-spun, s plied yarns.
A slit-tapestry plaque with an interior frame of reed and a five layer multicoloured fringe surround. Tapestry on both sides of the plaque, each with a multicoloured human figure standing in a frontal stance, each dressed differently, on a yellow background. A flexible tapestry section with a row of red spirals on yellow and a geometrically rendered face in yellow on brown is attached to the top of the plaque. Yellow, gold and red are the major colours; white, black, green, pink and brown are accents. Z-spun, two plied s yarns.
Piece of finely woven border in many colours; red, green, pink, purple, white, gold and grey. Has parts of seven rectangles, each with separate images; a monkey, two birds, two humans, a crustacean and one indiscernible shape. The right side of the fabric is double cloth with substituting warps and wefts. The underside is a mass of warp floats. The one intact edge has a scalloped border of woven fringes. Z-spun, two ply s yarns.
The woven headband is narrow with a long fringe at both ends. The central section of the band repeats double headed serpents twelve times in gold, green and two shades of red. The band narrows to sections of oblique twining and weft faced plain weave on grouped warps at both ends. The warps then become long fringes. Z-spun, two plied s yarns.
A fragmentary tubular band with yellow meandering serpent design against a background of brown and green; looped over a core of red, white and blue threads; made up of two sections sewn together. One outside end is complete, the other is incomplete. Z-spun, 2 ply s yarns; core yarns are spun z, 2 ply s and 4 ply z. Blue yarn used in modern mend.
