Wooden sculpture of a human figure with a carved dish, or bowl, on the back of a slave. The main figure is kneeling and holding a bulging bentwood-style dish, balanced on the back of another smaller figure, who is crouched down on all fours and looking out from the front of the base.
Carved wooden, oval shaped dish (łuk’wa) with centre concavity. Made from a single piece of wood, the bowl represents the upper body of a killer whale. One end has the whale’s head in red and black, carved in shallow relief with its mouth open. On the sides, below the mouth is the blowhole, cutout and outlined in red. Behind the hole are the side fins incised with horizontal lines. At the opposite end is a crouched male figure with his head facing upwards and its arms outstretched holding onto the back of the killer whale. The figure has black hair, a black belt and wrist bands. (Repaired with copper wire).
Carved, wooden talking stick, or speaker's staff, depicting (from bottom to top) a copper, human figure with copper, killer whale and thunderbird. The stomach of the killer whale is hollow with a thin board nailed to it. The talking stick is painted black, white and red with Northwest Coast stylized designs.
Brown wood rattle with the top piece in the form of a bird with a small, thin sea otter on its back and the bottom piece in the shape of a rounded semi-oval bound together with white string and metal and at the handle with brown string. Bird's circular black eyes are surrounded by a plain grooved tapering oval. Body is dark with wings that have black outlined feathers consisting of black and red dashes with a red tip along the outer wing and u forms with a tear drop shape along the inner wing. Tail angles upward with two black outlined feathers consisting of u forms with red accents. The small, thin sea otter on the bird's back has a black body with circular black eyes outlined by a plain tapering oval groove and an open mouth that connects to the back of the bird's upper neck. The sea otter's tail extends straight backward to connect with the bird's upward angled tail. The bottom piece that is the belly of the bird has a face with black ovoid in ovoid eyes with black brows above that have an inverted red split u within. Below, there is a vertically bisymmetrical black design consisting of an inverted red u line outlined by black with a black ovoid in ovoid below sharing a central vertical panel of four black outlined u forms at the bottom.
Blue ink drawing of a thunderbird head in profile facing to the right side on cardboard. Has a circle in circle eye surrounded by a sideways split u that has dashes within. The brow has a star shape at the centre. There is a triangular crest on top of the head that ends in an ovoid curl at the back that has a cross shape within. The beak has an upside down u form design with four upside down u forms along the top that each have long, central, tapering protrusions. The open mouth shows a four-pointed barbed tongue. There is an elongated, sideways, u form behind the mouth with an ovoid at the centre. There is a split v below the mouth. Therre are three tapering points along the lower jaw line. The back side of the head has four sideways u forms that each have long, central, tapering protrusions and four dashes within. The top left corner reads 'QUATSINO BC', the top right corner reads 'THUNDER BIRD', and the bottom right corner reads ' BY JOSEPH TERENCE JOHNNY QUATSINO B.C.'. Blue mat. Back has been drawn on in ink and then scribbled over.
Hat with wide flared brim, a slight peak at the centre of the crown, an inner headband and cotton ties. The crown is painted with two ovoid eye shapes and two black and red tail shapes. The brim has a black and red expansive motif and a red band at the edge.
A large carved wooden bird with a face design carved in relief on the bottom. The bird has a beak and the wings double as the ears of the face carved in relief on the bottom. The face carved on the bottom has circular protruding eyes and its tongue sticks out.
Spoon made of bent sheep horn with a pointed bowl tip and a slightly tapering, curved handle with a hole near the centre of its length and a rounded tip.
Mask with small circular eye holes, a long, hooked nose, high cheek bones, protruding eyebrows, and lips that form an oval shape. The eyebrows, base of nose and moustache are in black, the nose, cheekbones and mouth are red, and the remainder of the face is painted grey with mottled red and black on the chin, three lines of red on on side of the face, and two red lines on the other side of the face. Black moss has been nailed to the mask under the nose, to the sides of the mouth, to the sides of the cheeks, and at the top of the head.
Mask with hooked nose, protruding eyebrows and round holes with protruding rims in cheeks, jaw and chin. The mask is painted with black and red circles just above the heavy black eyebrows, green around the eyes and on the nose, which has red nostrils, red lips, red around the protruding holes, and black on the sides of the cheeks and on the chin.
