Square ceramic tile decorated with a clematis vine design. Centre has dark blue flowers on a dark turquoise ground. The centre is bordered by repeating squares with small white flowers and white bands with repeating light blue dots on dark yellow ground. Surface is glazed. Back of tile has 6 raised lines. Manufacturer’s mark, Minton Hollins Co Patent Tile Works Stoke on Trent No 2 Buff, stamped on ridges.
Square floor tile with quatrefoil foliate design. Surface is glazed. Dark brown square and quatrefoil designs on a yellow-beige ground, and red-brown foliage spandrel in each corner. The quatrefoil has a blue and white cross at centre with a red-brown lozenge. On the back, there are 4 rows of 4 circular holes. Manufacturer’s mark, W. Godwin Lugwardine Hereford, moulded in relief on the reverse.
Square ceramic tile with black designs on yellow ground. Surface and sides are glazed. Four large floral designs, one in each corner, that connect to each other and to a smaller floral design at centre. All of the shapes are filled with a mixture of floral and curvilinear motifs. Grid on back of tile. Manufacturer’s mark, Minton Hollins Co Patent Tile Works Stoke on Trent, stamped in between ridges. Inscription on back.
A rectangular sketchbook folder with most of its pages torn out--two pages remain inside. Sinhalese script has been written in blue pen in the top right corner of the cover. The folder is bound at the spine with thin, cotton thread, which is woven through the cover and inner pages to hold them together. The first page is a sample sheet with information about the sketchbook and manufacturer. The second page is also a sample sheet, with text on the back side. The cover is blue, and reads 'The Waverly Artistic School Drawing Book' in the bottom centre of the page. Above this, inside of a solid black oval, is a left-facing portrait style bust of Mars wearing a toga and a Roman helmet. Sitting on top of his helmet is a small, winged dragon with its mouth open and tongue out. Extending from the bust is a broad, floral border which continues along the top and sides of the cover in a rectangular arch. Thin, horizontal stripes fill in the space between the flowers and leaves. Surrounding the floral pattern, bust, and title is a second border, consisting of three thin, parallel lines.

Central design of three figures standing around a seated woman in an ornately decorated room. The woman, wearing a long short-sleeved gown, is at a writing desk, facing a man with a feathered hat and cape. In the background, to the left of the woman, are another man and woman. The standing woman is holding the second man back. In the top left corner, in a rectangle with a shield outline inside of it, are the words “Bride of Lammermoor.” In the bottom right corner, in a rectangle with a stylized oval inside of it, are the words “Ravenswood & Lucy.” The name of the tile designer is painted in the bottom left corner. Raised grid across back of tile. In centre of grid three diagonal ridges are stamped. Manufacturer’s mark, Mintons China Works, in between ridges.
Square ceramic tile with floral motif painted on front. Surface is glazed. Background is off-white. Border along all edges with alternating triangles inside it, done in pale yellow and dark brown. Each triangle has a semi-circle at the bottom and lines stretching out from the semi-circle. In the four corners of the border are squares with stylized crosses. Tile has a central design of red-pink flowers with large dark yellow and blue-green leaves. Flowers and leaves are growing on dark brown stems, with smaller branches with black leaves. The large leaves overlap with the border in places. Small circle and large circular outline imprinted on back of tile. Inscription on back.
Square ceramic tile with floral designs carved in relief across front. Surface is glazed. Circular flower designs overlapping one another, covering entire surface of tile. Flowers done in light green, olive green, pale yellow and yellow-brown. All flower centres are dark yellow. Seven horizontal ridges on back of tile. Manufacturer’s mark, Minton & Co., stamped between ridges.
Square ceramic tile painted cream with dark brown floral and geometric motifs overtop. Surface and sides are glazed, back partially glazed. Quarter circles in tile corners with geometric designs inside. Plain brown line border, next to wider band with white interlocking line inside it. Central design of a large flower with multiple offshoots. Overtop of flower is a cross, dividing tile into four sections. Cross arms made up of two lines- a plain one and one with slanted Greek key motif. Raised grid across entire back of tile. Inscriptions, handwritten and stamped, on back.

Central design of white flowers and dark green leaves growing on dark brown branches. Centres of the white flowers are red-brown. Seven vertical ridges on back of tile. Manufacturer’s mark, Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, stamped in between ridges.

Manufacturer’s mark, Minton' Hollins & Co., stamped between ridges. White sticker in the bottom left corner, on the back, with handwritten notes.
