Drum2664/3 a-b

Double-sided drum made of tops of two human skulls(?) placed top to top with each opening covered with skin. Join is wrapped with blue cotton cloth and dark red wool, with cords of braided hide ending in knobs attached to each side. Hide strips partially covered in brown corduroy project from one side, ending in tassels in poor condition. Part b is a detached cord with metal-wrapped tassels.

Breast Cover2664/2

Chest cover made of bone plaques and beads, and turquoise glass beads strung on fabric cords ending with flat copper bells. Central plaques each have Buddha images. Some cords fastened with black wax seals. Iridescent turquoise beads above shoulders of upper Buddha.

Knife2664/1 a-b

Long knife with scabbard. Scabbard is smooth silver with two bands of leaf shapes extending from centre ring; single band at opening of scabbard. Loop on one side surrounded with embossed foliate design. Flat tape braided of red-purple silk? with double braid on one side inserted through slit in the other. Handle with concave sides is wrapped with twisted silver wire. Top of handle has overall design of hexagons, each with a Y design inside, and recesses filled with a dark substance. Copper band around top of wire-wrapped area.

Wind Musical Instrument2663/10 a-c

Double-reeded instrument (part a) made of ribbed wood encircled with one brass band twisted around; each rib has either a red or green stone. Disc (part b) of brass with downturned flange, threaded onto mouthpiece. Mouthpiece (part c) is a brass tube with brass discs at end. Three perforated brass globes are threaded between disks, the disc is loose.

Double-reeded oboe (a) made of ribbed wood encircled with brass bands each set with a red or green stone. Flared bell of tin? encircled with bands of embossed brass. Brass tip where mouthpiece is inserted. Mouthpiece (b) is a brass tube with brass discs at each end. Three perforated brass globes are threaded between disks. White adhesive tape/paper wrapped around one end.

Prayer wheel of copper with brass bands, set with red and turquoise stones. Brass finial, brass ends on wooden handle, copper weight. Top (b) is removable, revealing yellow cloth over roll of paper.

Copper figure of standing lion or chilin on a rectangular base. Dark copper colour with some brass colour on base. There is a vertical hole through body of the animal and one on each side of the base.

Drum841/35

A short double-sided dark brown wood cylindrical drum with a fibre band covered in fabric wrapped around the middle part which is painted red. Attached to the band are two rope cords, one of which has a ball at the end. There is a white loop through the band and a cowrie shell. Orange twirled fibre string is looped around the band. The drum is decorated on the sides with white and red circles.

Repousse Buddhist symbols in high relief in cartouches coloured gold on raised centre portion, with faint floral pattern on background and ring of Greek key design.
