Winnowing BasketB567

Scoop or shovel-shaped basket, woven with natural coloured grass. One side curves upwards and the other side widens to a flattened edge. The perimeter of the entire tray is lined with a thick piece of bamboo that is secured by eleven sections of stitched grass.

Model of grain basket. Thick band of green coloured grass is placed around outer and inner rim of basket and is secured by eight evenly spaced vertical loops. The outside of the basket is in the natural colour. The inside of the basket has both natural and pink striped designs in a herring-bone type pattern.
