Ceremonial Bowl2738/106

Round, shallow, ceremonial dish made of light brown clay has a plain exterior surface and a reddish brown interior covered with cream coloured vegetal motifs. Numerous small clay figures (llamas, sheep, donkey, two people) are arranged head to tail around the wide flat lip and a deer stands in the centre of the dish.

Retablo Altar2738/199

Brightly painted portable "retablo" box altar with door opening on leather hinges to the left to show a Nativity scene. Small painted plaster animals are staggered in rows rising in height towards the pink and yellow back wall where a peasant kneels before the baby in the cradle and a gilded Joseph and Mary. The exterior of the box has flowers, dots, wavy lines, and a sun painted in red, green, blue, yellow, black and brown against a white background.

Retablo Altar2738/197

Brightly painted portable "retablo" box altar. Two doors open outwards from the centre on leather hinges to show a scene commemorating the discovery of America in 1492, with three ships (caravels) in a dragon-filled sea. The exterior sides of the box are painted with blue dots while the doors on both sides are painted with floral motifs in red, purple, yellow, and black on a white background.

Small, painted plaque in high relief, made of paper-mache, with rounded top and sides rolled towards the back. Depiction of a figure in a red shirt and black pants leaning from a rocky cliff with a waterfall to reach the singing mermaid strumming a yellow guitar below. Small Christian nativity scene in brown clay, painted in cream, dark brown and reddish brown. Structure has cream walls and a brown roof with crimped edges. Three small figures and a cradle are set deep inside a cut-out in a rectangular hut that is decorated with lines and a sheaf of grass on each of the other three sides. Interior has a spotted floor and lines painted on the back wall.

Long narrow orange clay jug stands on three small feet and is fashioned in the shape of a female figure (chuncha or medicine woman), with the spout coming out of her back. She wears a reddish brown dress with cream coloured hood and bib with cream and dark brown decorative elements. Short arms curl around a pot and an axe at shoulder level.

Cross2738/98

Painted wooden cross with plaster 3-D decoration representing the Passion. Sides and back of the wood are painted white with purple spirals while the front has white flowers painted onto a maroon background and is topped with a white sign with INRI painted in black. Two green and white wood ladders are attached to the front and four gold wood poles topped with plaster angel heads radiate out from the cross-point. Other plaster attachments include a dove, the bleeding head of Christ, a hammer and wrench, a bleeding heart and golden chalice, a purple dress, three die, and a golden rooster on a pedestal.

Religious praying figure stands atop a loaf-shaped mound built onto four square legs with carrying posts. Festooned with numerous tall candles(?) and ornate structures at each corner.
