A massive wedge-shaped stone axe head. This axe head was re-accessioned as Z 2696, see catalogue entry under this later number.; Good
A large carved and painted wooden chest with an undecorated lid.; Goodtwo iron nails in the inside of the lid sides, and a ?copper alloy staple in inside the llid base which holds a paper label and may have been added by the collector.
Small wooden dish carved into the shape of a frog with the head and shoulders of a man projecting from the rear. The frog has been painted with red and black designs, the man is European in appearance and has red lips and ?tie, and black hair, eyebrows and jacket. The unusual truncation of the man' s body suggests there may have been more to this object originally. There are no traces of grease within the dish (G.Crowther).; Good
Wooden self bow. The bow shaped nocks, and in cross- section is curved on the front, and flat on the back. The surface of the back is grooved, and a ridge runs down the centre. The arms taper towards the nocks, and narrower at the grip. The bowstring is attached at one end and has a loop at the other for slipping round the nock.; Good
A large halibut hook made from two pieces of wood lashed together with split spruce root. An iron barb is lashed into place also with split spruce root. The lower arm is carved in the form of a bird, possibly a raven, with a hollowed out head andlegs. The remains of the leader line can be seen in a hole in the centre of the bird' s body.; Good
Two large carved door-like panels that peg together to form one low-relief framed image. Eagle dominates the centre of the panel, with its wings spread and head turned to the side, encircled by Salmon (top right), Sea Wolf (bottom) and Frog (top left).
Carving of a crouched man with bird on head. Strong facial features with teeth bared. Rib cage protruding and muscles in legs well defined. Long braid at back of head.
Sitting figure with lines on high forehead, and design around top of head representing octopus tentacles. Figure holds a halibut, with its tail in her mouth. Red ochre pigment overall, but most noticeably on forehead, ears, mouth and nostrils.
