Holder3660/47

Small ornamental beaded holder made of fabric-covered paper board(?) with loop of thin red ribbon attached at top. The body of the holder is shell-shaped, wider at the top with a scalloped edge, narrowing in and then fanning out slightly at the bottom edge. There is a raised rigid band of beaded fabric at the narrowest point, likely to act as the holding point for an object that could be inserted from the top and held in place. There is a double row of white beads along all edges, and two different beaded flowers on the front of the band and on the body at the bottom edge. The flower on the band is of pink, white, green, yellow and amber beads, and the flower on the bottom edge is made of round blue and green beads with smaller white beads. There is a looped fringe of multi-coloured beads hanging from the bottom edge, and the word "CAUGHNAWAGA" in yellow beads along the top scalloped edge, with green cylindrical bead embellishments. The back of the body is solid red fabric.
