Pouch3660/42

Beaded pouch made of black felted wool(?) edged in ruched black silk(?), and heavily beaded with flowers and foliage. The bag's shape is rounded with two scalloped flaps that fall to either side of the opening. The inside of the pouch is lined in black silk, and the underside of the flaps in felted wool. A black silk strap is partially attached to the pouch at the opening.

Chatelaine Bag3660/39

Small tulip-shaped cloth bag with densely beaded floral motifs on both sides in blue, green, red, yellow, white and clear. The beads are stitched on to a brown pile velvet fabric. There is a lighter brown fabric sewn around the edges, and a short handle made of brown velvet with a blue-purple silk backing. The top of the bag is open, and the interior lining is a dusty pink, shiny fabric.

Picture Frame3660/41

Brown velvet picture frame with oval opening at centre. Double rows of beads are sewn around the outside edge and the oval opening edge. Decorative beadwork in floral patterns around front, with "OTTAWA" beaded in gold beads at the top, and "1931" in green and gold beads at the bottom, with brown sequins added between the letters and numbers. Five triple-looped strands of beads hang from the bottom. Red fabric lines the inside back, with beige fabric covering the outer back; in between the layers of fabric is something like a piece of thin cardboard, for stiffening.

Purse3660/45 a-c

Canoe purse. Small, mauve velvet, canoe-shaped purse, heavily beaded with clear beads. Beads are attached around upper edges and ends, in horizontal decorations on both sides of canoe. One side has five light blue beads inside circles of clear beads, and there are three triple strand loops of beads hanging from the bottom. There is a piece of paper (part b) rolled up and tied with a light blue ribbon (part c) that fits inside the canoe opening. The paper has a story printed on one side, titled "The Legend of the Maid of the Mist".

Small beaded pouch. Bag is made of brown velvet edged in red cotton, with heavy beading in images of long leaves (oak?), other foliage, and flowers. The bag's shape is rounded with large scallops at the bottom hem. At top, two scalloped flaps fall to either side of the opening, one of which hides a small pocket. The inside of the pouch and underside of the flaps are lined in a stiff cotton. A small black strap of fabric is attached to the pouch at its top corners.

Plains style headdress with black felt skullcap and bright blue headband. Downy yellow-green feathers glued onto bottoms of large light white bonnet feathers with dark brown tips, and having downy white feathers in the middle wrapped in red yarn at the bottom. Feathers attached to band with a shoelace. Front of bonnet beaded with three yellow centred triangles outlined with red, dark blue, orange, brown, and light blue on a white background. Two beaded circles are at either ends of the front beaded band. The beaded circles consist of a design of four arrows pointing toward the klight blue bead centre, starting from the top and going clock-wise: red, black, red, and black, on a white background and interconnected with a light blue circular line. Four rabbit fur strips, two dangling from each side.

Long, horizontal pipe with a wooden stem and brass bowl that ends in an upwards curve. Middle segment of wooden stem is wrapped in black and white snake skin(?), edged with purple, red and yellow ribbon, and has two long skin tassels hanging from it with red and white beaded decorations. Scalloped bottom of curved brass bowl is punctuated with a series of holes, through which strings of beads and strips of leather tied to feathers and ribbon are strung.

Small beaded black velvet bag with undecorated top opening and decorative front flaps on either side. Leaf designs on flaps and on bag in yellow, gold, blue, red, white and grey, bordered by short vertical rows of grey and white beads, and white beads along edges. Red cotton binding around outer edge. Light brown cotton binding at top opening and lining.

Club with long flat handle that serves at a right angle into a ball club. End of handle is a barbed point with the barb leading into a recessed grip area. The ball end has carved detail that serves to make the ball appear to be a separate piece held on to the handle by a claw-type setting.

Surface is covered with small dents and a curved hole is cut all the way through at the right angle of the handle; the end of the handle has a barbed point and a grip area that has rounded edges and a small hole at the point end.
