Soapberry Spoon3194/20

Wooden spatula-like spoon has a long blade with a squared tip, narrowing toward handle. Blade is slightly concave on top surface, decorated in carved formlines, with a ridge down the back that extends from the handle. Handle is long and rounded, flattened on upper surface, with a small inset section at end holding a sparse, incised motif. “80” is carved on the tip.

Chief's Headdress3181/1

Chief's headdress in raven's tail design. Headdress is tall and round, open at crown and topped with a thick circle of fur. The exterior is covered in black and white weaving in 'lightning' design on the sides, and 'diamond within a diamond' design at front, covered by a thick copper-shaped frontlet made of dark red glass. The interior is covered with leather. At back falls a train with the lightning weave pattern, backed by grey ultra-suede, surrounded on the sides and bottom with thick fringes of wool. Nine ermine furs, white with black tail tips, are attached to the train. The headdress can be tightened with a cord and plastic clip under the train at back.

Ink drawing on paper. The outline of a large bird occupies the page, its head toward the bottom, three large tail feathers at top, drawn with orange ink and shaded in a light green on its talons, beak and head. Inside the form are brief notes in a numbered mapping format, written in black ink. Text at bottom states, “Raven’s Call transition & overview map Oct 9, 2008”. Erased pencil marks and notes can be seen across the sheet.
