Model CanoeC722 a-c

Carved model of a canoe (part a) with one attached outrigger and two carved paddles (parts b-c). The canoe (part a) has a basketry woven triangular sail. At the bottom of the mast, there is a square board perpendicular to it at the top of the canoe (part a), from which square board five horizontal cylindrical beams attach to the outrigger with the three larger beams. One paddle (part b) is long with a knob at the end of the handle. The other paddle (part c) has a cordate shape with a thin handle.

A large red and brown ceramic bowl with a rounded bottom. The wide rim is decorated with six sections of equally spaced multiple diagonal rows of grooved dots (between thirteen to eighteen rows each). There is no inscription underneath the rim on the inside of the bowl.

A large brown clay pot with an egg-like shape and a rounded bottom. There is a wide rim around the top opening. Around the neck, there is a horizontal impressed dot pattern. Around the upper part of the pot, there are double downward pointing triangles incised all around a horizontal upper line below the impressed dot pattern.

Basket1448/2

Basket with overall oval shape at rim and sides that curve outwards slightly. Base is smaller than rim. Two long, braided handles strung through the basket near the base on one side, and near the rim on the other side. One braid runs across the inside bottom, emerges on the outside on either end, is strung back through to the inside and back out again, each end finishing in a knot.

Club2670/2 a-b

Round-headed club with intricately carved bands. There are bone inlays at the butt end of the shaft and the top of the head. There were four inlays around the sides of the head, but only one remains. The shaft is also intricately carved and has two areas where there were once inlay (now gone). The round inlay at the top (part b) is carved into many small points all around the perimeter.

A deep oval wood dish with pointed ends and four conical legs with a double-side-by-side triangular protrusion through which a fibre rope loops around the middle. Inside the dish there are two pieces of tape, one reads "CEREMONIAL DISH", the other reads "FIJI".
