The barbs are straight, with four sides, and point backwards in the direction of the spear's user. They are secured by wound string, also painted black. Wrapped around the middle of the spear is a white, rectangular piece of bark cloth. A design has been painted onto the cloth in black, and consists of circles and dots in a radiating pattern.
