Tall six-sided bottle, with lid (part b). Each side has a panel with three images - the top and bottom generally feature a building, sometimes with a large bird. The centre image is a framed machine. The edges and top of the bottom are decorated in blue - repeating V's creating a vine, and small repeating arches around the mouth. The lid has a ceramic handle painted to appear metallic. Around the handle reads, '1906-1990 IVAR KAROLUS LUNDGREN'. The artist's signature is on the base.
Set of four light green stoneware stacking dishes (parts a-d). Set consists of three plates with slightly angled walls, and one bowl with more angled walls. Dishes increase in size from the bowl on top to the widest plate on the bottom. Maker's mark stamped on base of all four plates.
Traditional Chinese style scroll painting. Long, vertical scroll with an ink painting on rice paper depicting a servant standing and holding an umbrella, and an elderly man riding a horse next to a river. In the background, there is a large weeping tree. Along the lower left edge is the artist name in two Chinese characters, and in English, and her small red seal. The painting is mounted on a long piece of silk fronted paper, in a light cream colour. A small strip of wood lines the top of the work, with a plaited silk hanging string attached and two ties. A large decorative wooden dowel is attached at bottom.
White ceramic pipe bowl (part a) with a partly handmade wooden stem (part b). Outside of bowl is oblong and upright, painted on front with a green and brown scene of a buck walking through a forest. The bowl sits inside one arm of the ceramic double shank, with the thin wooden stem emerging from the other. Bit and lip appear to be made from a plastic-like material (possibly added later). A thin tie of twisted wool in green and tan is attached where bowl meets shank.
Vase is round and bulbous with a wide shoulder narrowing to the short neck and lip. At the bottom, the pot sits on a small brown foot. The vase is light grey with tiny dark brown speckles and decorated with two linear figures of a slightly raised dark grey glaze, with two rounded red glaze figures located in between. One side of the pot appears to have a shinier finish while the other side has a more matte appearance.
Round vase with a small foot and short neck. From the neck the vase widens slightly then tapers down to a foot. At the top the pot is dark brown, the colour fades to a medium brown then to a light brown at the bottom, with tiny dark black brown speckles. The top third of the vase is finished with a shiny glaze, while the bottom area is not glazed.
Low, wide vase. Narrower foot widens to low shoulder. Linear body features slight concave vertical brush strokes of light yellow-white glaze. Two linear characters in black glaze on opposite sides of body. Grey-blue glaze is visible through light cream colour, where glaze is thin. Cracks in cream coloured glaze where thick. Top shoulder narrows to short neck and lip. Square maker’s stamp on edge of foot.
Lidded pot. Narrow base widens to low shoulder and narrows slightly, then widens slightly to linear upper body. Wide inset rim fits circular lid (part b) with inset lip. Glaze varies in shades from raku firing. Metallic grey runs from bottom to rim with inset texture. Yellow-gold and green-grey glaze with oil like sheen throughout body. Flat rim is yellow-green-grey, similar to lid. Top of low shoulder edged with horizontal inset around circumference. Mid-body features horizontal edge. Base is unglazed charcoal grey. Square maker’s stamp along bottom edge. Lid features small round handle and has a similar finish to the pot.
Concave square plate with rounded corners, on four block feet. Background glaze is yellow-white with navy blue streaks horizontally across plate. Black linear figures on either side of centre. Cluster of cracks in glaze on far edge. Clear glaze on edges of bottom surface. Feet and centre are unglazed light brown clay with a square maker’s stamp in centre.
Bottle shaped vase. Rectangle with two wider faces and two thinner sides. The base is wide, narrowing to a high shoulder which tapers to a small square neck. The vessel is light grey with tiny light brown speckles, the bottle’s neck and sides are painted with a light brown glaze, giving it a bumpy texture. Located on both front and back faces are two stacked light and dark blue circular designs surrounding rounded brown figures with a dark brown dot in the centre. Protruding from the stack on either side are rounded blue chevrons facing outwards from the design, with thicker dark brown chevrons within. Both sides are decorated with a single blue circular design encircling a rounded brown design.
