Shadow puppet of a figure wearing an elaborate black, gold and red headdress. At the back of the headdress there is a red demon-like face. The black and gold elements of the headdress have scalloped edges and holes cut out of them to mimic fine metalwork. The figure’s face is in profile, facing right. He has a long black sideburn and a thin black mustache. His eyes and tongue are painted red. The figure’s skin is white. His chest is bare save for a large gold chest piece with red jewels that wraps around his neck and then extends down his torso to attach to the folds of his skirt. Around each of the figure’s upper arms and forearms, he wears gold bracelets and a gold ring on each hand. The upper arms, forearms and hands of the puppet are separate pieces of skin attached with small nails. The nails at his wrists also attach the puppet’s arms to wooden sticks, with movable joints in his arms. There is a stick attached to the front of the object and one attached to the back. The skirt is green, red, blue and gold with black stripes adorning them. The skirt wraps around his right thigh, lower than it does on his left leg. Yellow thread attaches a large dark brown stick to the middle of the puppet on the front and back side. The stick is pointed at the bottom end.

The headdress has decorative holes cut into it and scalloped edges to mimic fine metalwork. The figure’s flesh is dark red. His face is in profile and looks to the left. He has a long black sideburn and a small black moustache. The figure’s eyes and tongue are red. His chest is bare and has a small patch of chest hair. On each of the figure’s upper arms and forearms he wears gold bracelets. In each of his hands he holds a white spear. Each of his arms is composed of an upper arm piece, a forearm piece and a hand piece of skin. These pieces are attached to each other using small nails. His wrist joints are also attached to long wooden sticks; this results in his arms having movable joints. Tied around his waist, the figure wears a loin cloth. The fabric is red, black, grey, white, blue and green. The red, green and blue elements of the garment have black stripes on them. The black, grey and white elements of the garment are arranged in a check pattern with gold trim. The puppet’s thighs are large and bare. Black thread attaches a wide wooden stick to the middle of the puppet’s body. The stick is pointed at the bottom end.
Shadow puppet made of skin. Represents the character Kresna (Krishna). The figure has green skin exposed at its face, arms, chest, stomach and legs. He wears an elaborate gold, red, blue green and white headdress. The red and blue elements of the puppet are striped with black lines. The gold elements of the puppet have small holes through them and scalloped edges to mimic the shapes of fine metalwork. The figure’s face is in profile; it has long black sideburns and a thin curly moustache. His eyes and tongue are red. A large gold necklace hands down the figure’s chest. He also wears a gold chest piece that wraps around his torso. There are gold bracelets on each of the figure’s upper arms and wrists. On his fingers, there are gold rings. At each of the figure’s shoulder joints, elbows and wrists, there are metal nails the pieces of skin and attaching the skin of the hands to wooden sticks. One of the sticks is on the front and the other is on the back of the puppet. These allow the puppet to have movable arm joints. Wrapped around the figures waist is an elaborate skirt with red, blue, green, white and gold detailing. The fabric of the skirt also wraps around the upper left thigh of the figure. The toe and finger nails of the puppet are painted white. There are gold bracelets around each of his ankles. There is a dark brown stick which is pointed at the bottom end attached to the front and back of the puppet with yellow thread.
Three cut fragments of a ceremonial wrap skirt made of silk, with purple and red dyes. Two of the fragments are ends (b,c) with a thick red border along one edge; the larger fragment is from the centre. The design is a weft ikat resist technique (known as endek).
Two fragments of hand woven, weft ikat, cotton cloth. Both have the same dark brown border and similar coloured motifs in gold, green and white; (a) with petalled flowers, (b) with leaves.
Women's inner cloth of mercerized commercial cotton. Warp faced cloth has multi-coloured stripes of purple, gold, burgundy, blue, green and white and ends are twisted into a two-ply knotted fringe.
Ceremonial outer skirt cloth. Songket style, multi-coloured orange and red checked cotton with gold continuous and discontinuous weft patterns and motifs.
Ceremonial skirt cloth (saput). Long maroon coloured cloth, hand woven on a back strap loom with discontinuous warp. The natural dyed silk is single sided and weft faced. Alternating rows of hand wrapped gold and silver thread designs decorate the central panel, framed within a gold border.
Woman's ceremonial cloth (saput). The cloth consists of two panels of red silk, hand loomed on back-strap loom with discontinuous warp and dyed with a weft ikat resist technique-known as "endek", that are sewn together with the seam down the centre. A songket supplementary weft of silver covered threads divides the central design into four rows of rectangular shapes with tall tree-like cones at either end. Within the rectangles is a red, orange and cream weft ikat.
Balinese painting on rectangular cloth. Hindu image in red, orange, light and dark black, and white. An orange painted frame with black ivy-like chain surrounds a scene divided into three areas by borders of rocks. In the centre is a tree and three figures kneeling before two standing figures in orange bubbles. Two figures are in the upper right corner and vegetation in the upper left. The painting is adhered at the top to a beige linen covered cardboard mount.
