Rattle in shape of a triangle with one extended side for handle. Sides are sewn. Lead shot is inside the rattle for making noise.

Philip Drucker notes that: "horn of both mountain sheep and mountain goat was used for various purposes, after being softened in boiling water to permit shaping and molding (1955:51)."
According to the accession file, the previous owner had bought the rattle from the Keen estate sometime between 1950-1962. The father ran an antique shop in Vancouver and the rattle had been in storage for 15 years.
