Description
Flat-back coiled cedar root basket with lid; lid had a semicircular opening in the centre and is attached to the basket by two buckskin thongs. Simple coiled work with parallel splint base construction. Partial imbrication; thunderibrd pattern in black and white, red/black and white, red and black. Lid has wing patterns.
History Of Use
Nlaka'pamux Elder Shirley Sterling noted that this style of basket is used for fishing, usually for trout.
