Coiled cedar root basketry fishing creel with a lid and a leather carrying strap with a metal buckle. Undecorated simple coiled work with parallel splint base and lid construction. Woven hole in the top and on the back (for the strap). Three reinforced splints on base.

History Of Use

Previously thought to be for tobacco and pipe, but the shape suggests that it is a fishing creel.
