Coffee Pot Item Number: 3655/7 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Coffee pot (dallah) with bulbous lower body that tapers in the middle and flares out slightly to the top. The hinged bell-shaped lid is topped with a tall finial. The curved handle is wrapped with a strip of black leather with thin sheets of metal woven in. There is a long crescent-shaped spout with a hinged metal flap that can be secured in place with a curled end. The body is engraved with two pairs of rings around the bulbous middle, and punched with repeating designs around the lid and upper portion of the pot.
The donors lived in Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
