Description

Strip of kente cloth composed of eight rectangular sections of blue with red, yellow, black, and white stripes. The blue sections are separated by smaller sections of green, red, yellow, and black stripes. There are also small sections of blue with red, yellow, black, and white stripes, but with yellow and red geometric shapes or lines embroidered on top. Near both ends of the strip are sections of lines composed of red and yellow stripes, and red and yellow checkered boxes. Each section is delineated by thin white lines. The strip is rectangular and has a fringe on the shortest ends.

Narrative

Purchased by the Kelowna Museum (now the Okanagan Heritage Museum) from Mr and Mrs Henry Hildebrand in 1982.
