Basket Item Number: 3543/1 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Large woven basket with a long handle that extends overtop of the entire basket; strap ends are stitched along top interior edge. Strap consists of three coiled strands. Handle has stiffened and sits above rim of basket. Body is circular and has a wide coiled rim. Sides and base are decorated with bands of alternating open and closed weave; open sections have a grid pattern with diagonal lines throughout them. Entire basket is naturally coloured.
Collected between 1963-1966, while the donor was living in Australia.
