Byzantine coin of Alexius I, 1081-1118. Obverse: Christ, enthroned; he wears a cloak. Reverse: bust of Alexius I, facing front; he wears a jewelled chlamys; to left, he holds a cruciform sceptre; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘AΛEZ’.
