Description

Byzantine coin of Constantine VII, 913-959. Obverse: bust of Constantine VII, facing front; he wears a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘COnSTbA’; to right, it says ‘ROM’. Reverse: there is an inscription of four lines, which begins with a cross, and says ‘COnS[T]/EnΘEObA/SILEVSR/OMEOn.’ The inscription on the reverse in translation says ‘Constantine, by the Grace of God, King of the Romans.’
