Description

Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: two figures standing and facing front; to left, Heraclius; to right, Heraclius Constantine, his son; both wear crown with cross; between their heads, there is another cross; to left, inscription is illegible; to right, it says ‘CON’; beneath the two figures, there is an upside-down 'M' and cross, as well as an upside-down ‘ϚI’, all of which belong to a previous coin. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, there is a long cross on a slant; to right, ‘ϚI’; above, ‘P’ within a cross; beneath, ‘E’; in exergue, ‘SELISϤ’. This coin has been overstruck, causing confusion on both sides.
