Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: two rulers standing and facing front; Heraclius is on the left; Heraclius Constantine, his son, is on the right; each holds a globus cruciger in their right hand. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘…I’; above, ‘P’ within a cross; beneath, ‘Δ’; in exergue, ‘CON’; to upper right, ‘DNFOCA’. This coin has been overstruck, and the inscription on the reverse indicates that it was once used by the previous emperor, Phocas.
