Description

Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: two rulers standing and facing front; Heraclius is on the left, wearing military dress and holding a long cross; Heraclius Constantine, his son, is on the right, holding a globus cruciger; to the right, 'K'. Reverse: large ‘Λ’; to right, ‘XX’ in a vertical position; to left, ‘A[NNO]’ in a vertical position; if the obverse is turned upside down, there is a large ‘M’; to the left of the ‘M’, there is ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; above the ‘M’, there is a cross. Coin has been overstruck on an earlier coin of Heraclius.
