Coin Item Number: 3095/924 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: two rulers standing and facing front; Heraclius is on the left, wearing military dress and holding long cross; Heraclius Constantine, his son, is on the right, wearing crown and holding globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘X’; above, it says ‘O’, but this appears to be part of an upside-down ‘CON’ from a previous coin, upon which this one was overstruck. Reverse: large ‘Λ’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘XX’ in a vertical position; beneath, ‘Γ’; due to this coin being overstruck, the exergue is too messy to decipher.
“Three-Quarter Follis” (denomination); DO# 117; Sear# 812.
