Description
Byzantine coin of Phocas, 602-610. Obverse: bust of Phocas, facing front; to left, inscription says ‘FO’; to right, it is illegible. Reverse: large ‘X’; above, cross. There also appear to be letters to the left of the bust on the obverse, perhaps indicating that this coin was overstruck on a coin from the previous emperor, Maurice Tiberius.
