Bowl Item Number: 2012.O.0128 from the Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre
Volcanic rock bowl.
"Chiselled hollow; carvings on the outside appear to be eyes and mouth on the front, curvy lines on the side, and two circles on the back."
Found in the Matsqui municipality, between Ross and Defehr Road, four or five hundred feet north of the U.S. border. The donor came across the bowl while cultivating a flat plateau area, above the basin of the west side of Fish Trap Creek. Fish Trap Creek is a spawning stream that flows into the Nooksack river, in Washington state.
