Horn Container Item Number: 2956/258 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Description
Horn container. Hollow, curved section of black and gray horn with a small cork stopper in the pointed end and a large cork stopper (part b) in the large end. There are gold-toned metal studs on the larger stopper, and a black leather band decoration at the rim. A black leather thong is tied at the rim.
History Of Use
Shepherd's horn for olives. Shepherds in the province decorated and carved horns (also see 2956/254-257) to make containers for food and wine.
