Description
Mask depicting a wide humanoid face with a samll nose, and wide, thin lips. The eyebrows and pupils are painted black. One of a pair.
History Of Use
The two masks A2120 a-b fit together, one over the other, so they can be worn simultaneously.
Narrative
Raley catalogue: "Mask. Dr. Large. 2 twins." Barbeau note (1939): "Mask from Bella Bella." (From C.M. Barbeau photo notes, in the Archives at the Canadian Museum of History, near Ottawa.) Originally collected by Richard W. Large, who was a missionary in Bella Bella.
