Figure Item Number: A7861 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Carved hardwood figure representing a duck, with a metal rod and wooden handle inserted into the underside of the duck's belly. The figure is painted with red, black and yellow. Brass sheet metal has been attached underneath each wing and twice around the neck.
From the collector’s notes: said to have been used with the whistle A7860 in a dance. Strings were attached to the duck; the strings had weights on the ends and were thrown into the audience so they could be pulled by people in the audience [presumably to spin the duck around].
