Snowshoes Item Number: A2.548 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Wooden frame snowshoes with two crossbars, rawhide latticework and straps; both curve upwards slightly at the blunt toed front.
Cultural origin unknown. Similar manufacturing technicque to A2.545 a-b and 1003/78 a-b. Said to have been collected in the BC interior, however in 1984 a researcher said they appeared to be Huron in style? (ref: Davidson "Snowshoes" 1937, p.91, fig 43b).
