Black coloured oval-shaped mask with two curved and tapered down turned horns. The face has carved and scalloped geometric designs on forehead, thinly carved vertical line from forehead down to eyebrow ridge, thinly carved eyebrow ridges, a wider nose ridge with small defined nostrils, red coloured eyelids, small slits for eyes, and small red lips. Jagged triangular-shaped edge on the perimeter of face.
Kpan mask. The Baule believe that before their birth, they lived in the spirit world, ruled over by Gu. These masks are performed for amusement at Goli festivals, and serve to renew the relationship with Gu.
