Description

Rectangular-shaped dark grey coloured metal blade with white-grey coloured curved handle. Blade is sharpened on one edge only, is attached to the handle by two long pieces of antler that run between the handle and blade, and secured with metal rivets to the blade. Narwhal tusk dowels attache antler pieces to the handle.

History Of Use

Used by women to cut up seal meat or skins, in hide tanning and for cutting other meat and skins. Made by men.
