SAMPLE #20, 1 vial, analyzed by S.Johannessen 1/31/05(see below). Charcoal from this bag was loaned to Sissel Johannessen (Demeter Research, Vashon, WA) from 1/17/2005 to 2/25/2005 to assess for possible radiocarbon dating. She identified selected wood to species, growth, and from which part of the tree it came. Johanessen then suggested which samples would be best to date based on the following criteria when possible: young wood, short-lived species, free of other materials (soil or rootlets), and sufficient size. Charcoal from this bag was selected for dating, and sent to Beta Analytic in April 2005 (Beta # 203755, Sample 280EXU12O). Dates were returned as: 2640+/-40BP Conventional Radiocarbon Age; 2740BP - 2790BP 2-sigma Calibration. NAB, 8/12/2009
