Description
Round coin with a four-sided hole in the centre, and a rim around the outer edge and the centre hole. The obverse has four characters, and the reverse has two characters. Xianfeng tongbao (top-bottom-right-left) in formal style Chinese characters are on the obverse; boo ciowan left-right (mintmark) in Manchu are on the reverse. Extra metal is on the outer rim top and right; extra metal is in the centre hole; rims are not even width; hole into the coin bottom.
History Of Use
Normal sized circulating coin. Unusual metal, due to Taiping uprising.
