History Of Use

Palace coin-a special issue for court, a commemorative piece. A coin-like charm, which could have circulated; probably a birthday issue (Larson, David). Today, a charm such as this is given to seniors at New Year or birthday celebrations. Possibly issued by the Qing government (Li, Min).
