Bracelet Item Number: 1322/1 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Silver cuff bracelet with an eagle design engraved around the outer surface.
Bracelet made from silver dollar coins: produced by hammering silver coins into a flat piece of rectangular metal. The metal is then incised with the design, and curved into a cuff shape when completed, for wearing.
Commissioned by Pearl Point to give to her daughter Georgina Brown on her 16th birthday. Brown's family is said to have lived on the Nanaimo Reserve (#1) at the time; Brown said Jimmy John (Mowachaht) was living on the #4 Nanaimo Reserve at the time. The bracelet was made from silver coins that Point gave to John for making the bracelet. In 1988 Georgina Brown decided to sell the bracelet to MOA.
