Description
Coiled basket with imbrication in a zigzag design of black, yellow, and red, repeating. Bottom edge is black imbrication. The coils increase in size from the bottom. Top edge is tightly braided.
There is a red stain on inside bottom and sides near bottom.
History Of Use
Baskets are used for carrying and storage of a wide variety of goods. They are also used for cooking. Women and girls make and use baskets, and it is a valuable asset to be able to make quality ones. Family wealth was partially correlated to the number and quality of baskets possessed.
