Description

Triangular leaf-shaped metal point inserted in wooden shaft and bound in two places with sinew. 5.5 cm. Angular cut halfway up shaft has wood piece bound on with sinew in three places. Top and bottom of split feather bound onto both sides of shaft's nock end with sinew.

History Of Use

Inuit arrowheads were made from stone, bone, ivory, or antler until metal became the predominant material. Arrow shafts usually feathered. After rifle was introduced, bow and arrow became obsolete.
