Description

Straw hat in cowboy hat style with narrow black plastic band around base of crown and several short pieces of blue plastic band sewn halfway up the crown at intervals on the diagonal. The high crown is deeply dented at the centre and sides of the top. The wide brim curls up at the sides and is finished with white plastic sewn to the edge.

History Of Use

Daily wear of villagers. The straw hat has replaced the traditional multicoloured brocaded textile (tzute) headdress worn by men.
